Penstemon grandiflorus
Large-flowered beardtongue has light pink or lavender flowers in May and June.  It is a stout plant with shell-shaped, waxy, bluish-green foliage. Though it can be a short-lived perennial, it is easy to grow in sunny, well-drained conditions.  In Missouri, this member of the figwort family (Scrophulariaceae) is so far known only from the loess hill praries of Atchison county.
