Prefers dryer areas in shade. Undersides of leaves & leaf stalks are soft-hairy & purplish.  Littleflower alumroot is excellent for container gardens.

This is a great plant for shady areas. The leaves are beautiful in color and shape. It makes a nice mound, and is great for a ground cover or interspersed with other plants such as hosta.
