Star Tickseed
Unfortunate name for a first-year super performer. Gorgeous yellow. NO need to deadhead. Just keeps blooming at a height of about 2'. Yep, it is lanky. A least this first year. You will want to face it with a shorter plant if you are using it in a bedding situation. Wonderful around our pond and also peaking out from the river birch shade. My husband staked a couple but others are attractively leaning and waving on their own.

Sowing Coreopsis pubescens seeds today without stratification. Is stratification really necessary? from MWN 4/18/2017: We haven't really tried to sow it without some stratification--better safe than sorry when trying to grow plants to sell. I suspect some of it will germinate readily. I'd be interested in your results. Marcus
