This is a small vine with very attractive foliage, unique yellow flowers and dark purple, marble-sized fruits. The fruits are edible and could be used as a dye; when I squish the fruits to get the seeds, my hands get a beautiful deep purple stain.

Yellow passion flower is a host plant for several butterflies such as the gulf fritillary. Wildflife will eat the fruit; deer tend to leave this plant alone.
