James' sedge is a tidy, clump-forming plant that grows well in wooded areas. Narrow, arching leaf blades are semi-evergreen and attractive year round. While it doesn't spread much, it can still be used as a border plant, green mulch, or planted in mass as a groundcover. The flowering/seed-bearing stem, or culm, is short and usually hidden by the foliage.
