Formerly known as Potentilla arguta, Prairie Cinquefoil thrives on neglect in sunny areas with well-drained soil. The creamy white flowers attract a number of small bees and other pollinators. The common name is pronounced "SINK-foil". It is fairly easy to grow and, compared to other cinquefoils, this one occurs in high-quality habitats. It can spread by rhizome, but isn't necessarily aggressive.
