Texas goldentop has thin, grass-like leaves and a "flat-topped" inflorescence of numerous, small, yellow flowers. It is a species of goldenrod, and has been listed under the genus Solidago in the past. Goldenrods in general are highly attractive to pollinators and other insects, and this one is no exception.
While it is easy to grow, it may not be suitable for all landscapes, as it can spread aggressively through underground rhizomes. If you have a site that needs a tough plant to colonize the area, this would be a great choice.
