The unique, feathery foliage grabs attention all on its own, but the vivid yellow flowers add pizzazz. Like other sunflowers, willowleaf sunflower spreads via creeping rhizomes. It works well in the back of beds or as a border species in larger plantings. Optimum conditions for this plant are full sun and thin, rocky soil. Rich organic soil will cause it to double in size, reaching 8 feet tall or more.
