Water canna makes a handsome container plant in greenhouses, sun rooms, and near outdoor pools. When grown in ponds and submerged by at least 6 to 12 inches of water, it is usually winter hardy. Container grown plants will either need protection over winter or need to be treated as annuals. Bees are the primary pollinators, but butterflies and hummingbirds will visit for nectar.
