Bumblebees love the bright yellow, pompom-like flowers. Shrubby St.John's wort is very adaptable to different growing conditions but will perform best in bright areas with good drainage. Flowers are borne on new growth and the plant will benefit aestheically from some pruning now and then, so best practice is to trim about 25% of the outermost growth in winter or early spring before flower buds are formed.
