A medium sized plant for shade gardens with showy tufts of creamy white flowers that are followed by ruby red berries in summer.  The attractive foliage stair-steps up the stem and remains green throughout the summer. Mature plants can spread by short rhizomes and form small colonies.  Also known as "false Solomon's seal" and Smilacina.  This plant grows best in fertile loamy soil with abundant organic material.
