Climbing milkweed, or oldfield milkvine, has large, heart-shaped leaves and is unmistakable with its clusters of burgandy, star-shaped flowers. Blooming often lasts about six weeks. It is a smaller vine (no more than 10 feet long) that trails and twines on other plants and could easily be trained onto a trellis or fence. Habitats include glades, savannas, blufftops, streambanks, and woodland margins.
