Orange coneflower's abundant "black-eyed susan" style flowers make quite a splash in the late-summer rain garden. Despite the name, they are much more yellow than orange. Compared to showy coneflower (R. fulgida var. sullivantii), this one needs more consistent moisture, has slightly smaller flowers, and tends to spread more rapidly.
