This is a fairly tall annual or biennial (or short-lived perennial) that can reach three to five feet tall. Brown-eyed Susan attracts many pollinators, including butterflies and a large variety of bees. The flower heads are more numerous but smaller than black-eyed Susan (R. hirta), which is also an annual. It blooms for a long time during summer.
